Centrifugal Separation - 1

Need help selecting? Free Tech Support! Separators / Extractors Centrifugal Multipurpose Separator/Extractors Applications - Pharmaceutical—antibiotics made in broths - Food processing—food oil separation and conditioning - Nutraceuticals—separation and extraction - Mining—solvent recovery and extraction of metals - Petroleum—crude oil from process water, dehydration, acid flowback - Environmental—contaminated ground water separation - Biofuels—algae cell concentration See our “Fittings” section on pages 301-342 to tailor your system’s connections. For systems using Masterflex peristaltic pumps, we recommend the couplings 06349-02 along with the barbed 30621-56 fittings to connect tubing to the separator. A free CD-ROM (item 00100-17) is available outlining the application possibilities of these units; we also offer a fully functional demonstration unit for trial. Contact your local dealer for details. What’s included: centrifugal chamber, Vs-hp electric motor with variable speed controller, high- and low-mix bottom plates plus ten weirs (ranging 0.825" to 1.050" dia; 20.95 to 26.67 mm), and a CD-ROM including weir selection software, dynamic-image instruction package, and maintenance guide. Explosion-proof motors add a 50-ft (15.2-m) power cable and a hazardous environment multipin connector. Throughput*: 1900 mL/min (114 L/hour) Fittings: 3/8" NPT(M) Dimensions (W x H x D): 9" x 25" x 9" (22.8 x 63.5 x 22.8 cm) r Specifications- Wetted parts Housing: 316 L stainless steel O-rings: PTFE Rotor head and sleeve O-rings: PTFE-encapsulated Viton® ^Larger units with throughput up to 200 GPM are available. *Motor meets all Class I Div 2 Group D requirements; enclosure is NEMA 4X. The component mixture (green) is fed through the inlet and fills the annular zone leading to the rotor. The alternate inlet accepts reagents and additives for flow into the same rotor chamber. As the mixture enters the rotor, it is forced to the rotor’s wall. Separation occurs as the fluid level rises in the rotor with the heavier fluid (blue) separating from the mixture (green). The accumulation of the heavier component forces it over the weir and through the heavy phase outlet. The lighter fluid (yellow) continues to accumulate to a level where it passes into the lighter phase outlet. Accessories Weirs are available in various diameters. Use the large-diameter weirs in applications with high-viscosity liquids. Spare Parts Kit contains common wear parts.
