Quantitative p-Hydroxybutyrate results P-Hydroxybutyrate is the main ketone body produced during ketosis (78%). Traditional nitroprusside methods, however, detect just 22% of the ketones present. During ketosis, P-Hydroxybutyrate increases more than the levels of acetone and acetoacetate.
