Pelvic Insert Note: The pelvic insert (red, see Fig. 13) is not an accurate representation of the anatomical structures in the pelvis, but ensures the appropriate positioning of the vaginal unit. Note: The supplied placenta with umbilical cord provides a very simplified illustration. The focus of the trainer is on the assessment of the postpartum hemorrhage. Bleeding Due to a Vaginal Rupture A vaginal rupture is a childbirth injury that can lead to increased blood loss. This must be recognized and, in real-life cases, treated with the appropriate wound care.
