Genomic DNA Analysis Agilent Fragment Analyzer Systems

Genomic DNA Analysis Agilent Fragment Analyzer Systems

Genomic DNA Analysis Agilent Fragment Analyzer Systems

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document discusses the efficient assessment of genomic DNA (gDNA) size, quality, and quantity using Agilent Fragment Analyzer systems. These assessments are crucial for applications such as cloning, restriction-digest screening, microarray, and next-generation sequencing.
Agilent Fragment Analyzer Systems: The systems streamline gDNA analysis with two specific kits: the Agilent Genomic DNA 50 kb kit for high concentration samples (25 to 250 ng/µL) and the Agilent HS Genomic DNA 50 kb kit for low concentration samples (0.3 to 12 ng/µL). Both kits utilize the Genomic Quality Number (GQN) metric, which assigns a score from 0 to 10 based on the sample's quality, with higher scores indicating better quality.
Features and Benefits:
  • Extended gDNA Sizing Range: Capable of sizing gDNA samples from 75 bp to 60 kb.
  • Short Run Times: Samples can be separated in 60 minutes or less using a short capillary array.
  • Genomic Quality Number (GQN): Provides a flexible threshold for determining gDNA integrity based on sample type and needs.
Specifications: The document provides detailed specifications for both kits, including kit size (500 samples), sizing range (75 to 60,000 bp), quantification precision (25% CV), quantification accuracy (± 30%), and concentration ranges.
Data Analysis: The document includes an example analysis of four gDNA samples using the Genomic DNA 50 kb kit. The Prosize data analysis software provides both an electropherogram and a digital gel image for visual quality analysis. A user-defined threshold (e.g., 10,000 bp) is used to assign a GQN score to each sample.
Ordering Information: The document provides part numbers for ordering the kits: DNF-467-0500 for the Agilent Genomic DNA 50 kb kit and DNF-468-0500 for the Agilent HS Genomic DNA 50 kb kit.
Additional Information: The kits are for research use only and not for diagnostic procedures. The document notes that the information is subject to change without notice.

Genomic DNA Analysis Agilent Fragment Analyzer Systems-1

Data Sheet Genomic DNA Analysis Agilent Fragment Analyzer Systems Efficient assessment of genomic DNA size, quality and quantity Quality assessment of genomic DNA (gDNA) is essential in several downstream applications including cloning, restriction-digest screening, microarray, and nextgeneration sequencing. Completing gDNA quality assessment in a time efficient manner increases lab productivity and decreases time to results. The Agilent Fragment Analyzer systems streamline gDNA analysis. There are two kits designed specifically for this purpose. The Agilent Genomic DNA 50 kb kit analyzes high concentration samples from 25 to 250 ng/µL with a single 200-fold dilution while the Agilent HS Genomic DNA 50 kb kit is ideal for the analysis of low concentration samples from 0.3 to 12 ng/µL. Both kits use the Genomic Quality Number (GQN) metric, a user-defined threshold. Using this metric, each sample is assigned a GQN, allowing for efficient assessment of a sample by applying a score between 0 and 10 based on the amount of sample that exceeds the threshold. A higher GQN score indicates a higherquality sample. Features and benefits – Extended gDNA sizing range Accurately and precisely size gDNA samples from 75 bp through 60 kb. – Short run times Separate samples in 60 minutes (short capillary array) or less. – Genomic Quality Number (GQN) Determine genomic DNA integrity using a flexible threshold based on sample type and needs. Agilent Genomic DNA 50 kb kit, 500 samples Agilent HS Genomic DNA 50 kb kit, 500 samples

Figure 1. Analysis of four gDNA samples on a Fragment Analyzer system with the Genomic DNA 50 kb kit. Prosize data analysis software provides both (A) an electropherogram and (B) a digital gel image for visual quality analysis. The dotted blue line on the electropherogram indicates a user-defined threshold, in this example 10,000 bp. (C) Using this threshold, each sample is assigned a Genomic Quality Number (GQN), allowing for efficient assessment of a sample by applying a score between 0 and 10 based on the amount of the sample that exceeds the threshold. A higher GQN score indicates a higher-quality...
