Determining RNA quality is a crucial workflow step for any researcher performing RNA-Seq and other downstream applications. The Agilent Ultra Sensitivity RNA kit, in combination with the unparalleled sensitivity of the Agilent Femto Pulse system, enables users to accurately size, quantify, and qualify very low concentration total RNA and ribo-depleted mRNA samples. To help researchers objectively measure RNA sample integrity, Agilent ProSize data analysis software offers the RNA Quality Number (RQN), a well-accepted quality metric to assess total RNA quality. With the RQN, total RNA samples are automatically scored from 1 to 10 (completely degraded RNA to fully intact RNA), providing an unbiased assessment of RNA integrity. The software also delivers an mRNA Property Summary, which indicates the percent of ribosomal RNA contamination present.
