CellWriter™ S Workstation

CellWriter™ S Workstation

Product catalog summary
Overview
The CellWriter S is a robotic workstation designed to automate the slide preparation process for Karyotyping and FISH (Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization). It bridges the gap between manual techniques and automated analysis by integrating BioDot’s nanoliter dispenser with precise temperature and humidity control, resulting in high-quality slides.
Features and Benefits
  • Automated cell dropping, probe/DAPI dispensing, and coverslipping.
  • Improved metaphase spread quality and reduced probe/assay costs.
  • Capability to perform up to 8 assays on a single slide, eliminating the need for rubber cement.
  • Processes 24 slides per batch with real-time probe inventory management.
Results
Images demonstrate the labeling of metaphase and interphase cells with X and Y centromere probes, counterstained with DAPI and Vectashield, using the Zeiss Axio Imager.
FISHArray Technology
FISHArray technology allows for multiplexed FISH assays, enabling up to 8 different assays on one slide, reducing the number of washes, hybridizations, and slides needed for analysis.

CellWriter™ S Workstation-1

CellWriterTM S FEATURES AND BENEFITS • Automated Cell Dropping • Automated Probe/DAPI Dispensing • Automated Coverslipping • Improve Metaphase Spread Quality • Perform Up To 8 Assays On One Slide • Reduce Probe/Assay Cost • Remove The Need For Rubber Cement • 24 Slide Processing Capability • Real-Time Probe Inventory Management RESULTS The dropping process has remained a highly manual technique for years, leaving an automation void between harvesters and microscopes. CellWriter now completes the continuum, by automating the dropping process to deliver quality spread interphase and metaphase nuclei for analysis. The CellWriter S is a robotic workstation that produces slides for both Karyotyping and FISH. By integrating BioDot’s nanoliter dispenser (BioJetTM) with exquisite temperature and humidity control, we have developed a highly efficient system that Image 1: Metaphase cell labeled with X Centromere (green) and Y Centromere (red) probes. BioDot further simplifies the workflow by introducing a new, patented slide technology. FISHArray SlidesTM enable multiplexed FISH assays and eliminate the need for rubber cement when preparing for hybridization (a step that is both messy and time consuming). The CellWriter S processes 24 slides per batch. Image 2 & 3 : Male metaphase and interphase cells labeled with X Centromere (green) and Y Centromere (red) probes.
