Baby Pod II

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Baby Pod II is an innovative infant transport device designed to safely and efficiently transport newborns. It offers a lightweight, cost-effective alternative to traditional transport incubators, ensuring safety, warmth, and ease of use.
Enhanced Safety Features: The Baby Pod II is constructed from carbon-fiber, similar to materials used in Formula 1 race cars, providing robust protection. It complies with European Ambulance Standards (CEN 1789) for 10g crash test survivability, equivalent to a crash at 55 km/h (30 mph). The pod can be securely mounted to any patient transport device using a unique fixation system with webbing straps and quick-release buckles.
Ease of Use and Mobility: Weighing only 9.5 kg (21 lbs), the Baby Pod II is easily maneuverable by a single person. It accommodates infants up to 8 kg (17.6 lbs) and includes a TransWarmer® Infant Transport Mattress that maintains a constant temperature of 38°C (100°F) for up to two hours without electrical power.
Cost-Effectiveness: The Baby Pod II reduces oxygen consumption significantly, requiring only 2 liters per minute to maintain a 36% concentration, compared to 8 liters per minute for standard incubators. This efficiency extends the duration of oxygen cylinders by up to 400% and costs less than 20% of traditional transport incubators.
Design and Comfort: The interior features shock-absorbent foam sections with removable, washable covers. The vacuum mattress and soft positioning straps secure the infant comfortably. The transparent lid provides excellent visibility and access through multiple ports for medical equipment.
Technical Specifications: The Baby Pod II measures 1000mm x 430mm x 300mm (L x W x H) and is made from carbon/composite materials. It complies with CEN 1789 and ISO standards. Additional accessories include the TransWarmer® Mattress, infant positioning straps, and ventilator mounting brackets.
Conclusion: The Baby Pod II offers a safe, efficient, and economical solution for infant transport, suitable for use in hospitals, on the road, and in the air.
