Product catalog summary
Description
SURGISPON DIAL is an absorbable haemostatic gelatin sponge designed for managing bleeding in post-haemodialysis patients. It promotes rapid haemostasis and supports recovery without compromising the integrity of fistulas or grafts.
Key Benefits
  • Highly porous structure that absorbs fluid approximately 45 times its weight for effective bleeding control.
  • Stops bleeding in 2 to 5 minutes in most cases.
  • Can be used dry or with drugs/antibiotics due to its pH-neutral nature.
  • Promotes platelet aggregation and clot formation.
  • Available in sizes 30mm x 30mm x 10mm and 20mm x 20mm x 07mm.
How It Works
The sponge's porous structure facilitates platelet gathering and activation, encouraging clotting substance release and fibrin formation to stop bleeding effectively.
How to Use
  1. Position the sponge alongside the gauze after removing the catheter tip.
  2. Apply moderate pressure until haemostasis is achieved.
  3. Wrap a bandage over the gauze to ensure the sponge is directly over the puncture site.
  4. Remove by irrigating with sterile saline and gently lifting off.
Essential Prescribing Information
  • Composition: Gelatin 99.97% W/W and excipients Q.S.
  • Intended for controlling bleeding at haemodialysis puncture sites and aiding in pressure application.
  • Non-toxic, non-allergenic, non-immunogenic, non-pyrogenic, gamma-sterilized, and ready to use.
Warnings
  • Do not use if the seal is damaged.
  • Do not re-sterilize or re-use.
  • Effectiveness may be reduced in patients treated with coagulation or platelet-aggregation inhibitors.
Precautions
  • Do not compress too tightly before use.
  • Not for use with methyl methacrylate adhesives, infected wounds, or wounds with inflammatory secretion.
  • Not for use in autologous blood salvage circuits, postpartum hemorrhage, menorrhagia, or closure of skin incisions.
  • Not for use in patients with known allergies to collagen.
Storage
Store in original packaging in a clean, dry room at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Use before the expiry date.

PROTECTION THROUGH PERFECTION FACT SHEET SURGISPON ® DIAL Absorbable Haemostatic Gelatin Sponge for Post-Haemodialysis Bleeding Control DESCRIPTION SURGISPON DIAL is an Absorbable Haemostatic Gelatin ® Sponge for managing bleeding in post-haemodialysis patients. It promotes rapid haemostasis and supports quick recovery without compromising fistula or graft integrity. SURGISPON DIAL’s porous structure enables platelet gathering ® Facilitates platelet aggregation, enhancing adhesion Triggers platelet activation upon contact with blood • Highly Porous Structure: Absorbs fluid approximately 45 times its weight for rapid & effective bleeding control/ haemostasis • Bleeding Time: Stops bleeding in 2 to 5 min in most of the cases • Carrier/Co-adjuvant for drugs: Being pH-neutral, can be used dry or in combination with drugs /antibiotics Encourages clotting substance release from platelets Catalyzes fibrin formation to strengthen the clot • Accelerated clotting: Provides a mechanical matrix that promotes platelet aggregation, facilitating clot formation Stops bleeding effectively by forming a stable clot • Size Availability: Offered in convenient 30mm x 30mm x 10mm & 20mm x 20mm x 07mm size, specifically designed to cover bleeding site Position the SURGISPON DIAL Apply moderate pressure Wrap a bandage over the gauze, Remove SURGISPON DIAL alongside the gauze after until haemostasis is achieved. to ensure SURGISPON DIAL by irrigating with sterile saline, is positioned directly over then gently lift it off.
