2  Getting Started Setting up the Mobile Network Connection Note: n order to set up a network connection between the Alere™ q and a I remote server the analyzer needs to be configured. Please see section 4 for further details. Inserting a SIM card into Alere™ Connectivity Pack II To insert the SIM card remove the SIM card reader cover panel by pushing it in the direction of the arrow embossed on the panel (1). The SIM card holder is now visible and the connectors lie exposed under the SIM card holder. Flip open the card holder (if the holder is locked, push it horizontally in the direction of the engraved arrow) (2). Completely insert the SIM card into the card holder so that the bevelled corner of the SIM card is on the top right, with the golden contact area facing you (3). The proper function of the mobile network connection through the Alere™ Connectivity Packs can be tested as follows: • Connect the modem to one of the USB ports at the back of the Alere™ q. • Select «Settings» from the «Home» screen. • A list of options will open.
