The RPS (Round Posterior Urethral Stent) by Allium™ Medical is designed for minimally invasive management of urethro-vesical anastomotic stenosis. It is particularly useful post-surgery such as Radical Prostatectomy, Radical Cycto-Prostatectomy, or after bladder-neck stenosis following TURP. The stent is engineered to conform to the organ shape, ensuring patient comfort while maintaining lumen caliber.
- Unique Coating: The stent is fully covered with a polymeric coating to prevent tissue in-growth, reduce encrustation, stone formation, and calcification.
- Reduced Migration: An anchor design minimizes backward migration into the bladder.
- Easy and Safe Removal: The stent can be unraveled into a thread-like strip for removal.
- High Flexibility: The stent is strong yet flexible, opening occluded passages with minimal irritation.
- Easy Placement: Thick stent wires are visible in fluoroscopy, eliminating the need for radiopaque markers.
- Long Term Indwelling: Designed for extended use, potentially reducing the need for recurrent procedures.
The RPS is mounted on a deployment handle for release under fluoroscopy. It measures 40 mm in length with a caliber of 45 Fr.
