ArthroBrostrom® The Only Arthroscopic Ankle Ligament Repair Kit - LS1-0490-EN

Product catalog summary
Overview: The ArthroBrostrom® is an arthroscopic ankle ligament repair kit designed to restore stability with a minimally invasive approach, potentially reducing pain and swelling compared to traditional open Brostrom procedures. Developed with Dr. Peter Mangone and Dr. Jorge Acevedo, the kit includes specialized tools for precise surgical intervention.
Kit Components: The ArthroBrostrom Kit (AR-8936BC-CP) includes an Arthroscopic Drill Guide, Obturator, Cannulated and Solid Step Drills (2.4 mm), Guidewire (1.2 mm), Micro SutureLasso (lateral ankle and small curved), and BioComposite SutureTak anchors with FiberWire and TigerWire.
Surgical Procedure:
  • Assemble the Drill Guide, obturator, and K-wire. Position through the anterolateral portal onto the fibula.
  • Drill with the cannulated Step Drill and insert the anchor into the drill hole, tapping until the laser line on the driver contacts the bone.
  • Pass the SutureLasso through the portal and soft tissue, then repeat with a second SutureLasso 1 cm apart.
  • Place the second anchor 1 cm superior to the first and repeat the initial steps.
  • Make a small incision to retrieve suture limbs, dissect to the inferior extensor retinaculum, and tie down sutures with the ankle in a neutral position.
  • Close all portals routinely.
Optional Accessories: Ankle Arthroscopy Set (AR-8655S), Ankle Distractor (AR-1713S), and Ankle Distraction Strap (AR-1713).
Additional Information: Standard anteromedial and anterolateral portals are used for joint debridement, focusing on the anterior aspect of the distal fibula. For further details, a QR code is provided for more information on foot and ankle procedures.

Surgical Technique Overview Standard anteromedial and anterolateral portals are made. Viewing from the anteromedial portal, debridement of the joint is performed with particular attention paid to preparation of the anterior aspect of the distal fibula. 1 Assemble the Drill Guide, obturator and K-wire from the kit. Place through the anterolateral portal onto the inferior aspect of the fibula, approximately 1 cm proximal to the tip of the distal fibula. Drill with the cannulated Step Drill until it “bottoms out” on the Drill Guide. Remove the K-wire and insert the anchor into the drill hole. Tap...
