Axilum Robotics was founded in 2011 in Strasbourg, France, and is a spin-off company from the medical robotic research group of LSIIT (Research Unit of the University of Strasbourg, CNRS and INSA) based on a fundamental patent in medical robotics. The project was an award winner at the national contest for creation of innovative technology companies organized by the French Ministry of Research in 2009 and in 2010 and has been certified through the Life Science cluster Alsace Biovalley in 2011.
