Main Working Process
When the sterilizer begins washing, the system starts. The input EO passes through the gas-water separator and into the Level I washing tower where it reacts with acid and water, absorbing the EO gas. The residual EO then enters Level II and Level III washing towers for further absorption. The final gas is filtered and released into the atmosphere. Saturated ethylene glycol from the washing towers is pumped into the neutralization tank where NaOH is added until the pH reaches 7, after which the liquor is transferred to the spend liquor tank for management.

Working Principle
The EO gas is absorbed in the pickling tower, reacting with acid liquid to form glycol as per the reaction: C2H4O + H2O → C2H4(OH)2.

Key Factors
Two main factors must be controlled: the pH of the acid liquid and the saturation degree of glycol. The acid liquid typically consists of 1%-5% dilute sulfuric acid with a pH less than 1.5. If the pH exceeds this, more acid is added. One cubic meter of water can absorb a specific amount of EO, necessitating a change of acid liquid if EO consumption exceeds this.

Efficiency and Customization
The system achieves a clarification rate of over 99.9% for EO. It is customized based on customer requirements and local government standards, with different models available based on processing capacity and purifying rate:
  • Level I: Processes about 20kgs EO gas per day with a 90% purifying rate.
  • Level II: Processes about 40kgs EO gas per day with a 96% purifying rate.
  • Level III: Processes about 60kgs EO gas per day with a 99.9% purifying rate.
