Product catalog summary
Overview: BioHorizons provides advanced dental implant solutions, including the One-piece 3.0 and Overdenture systems, tailored for narrow spaces and available in 85 global markets. The focus is on science, service, and innovation.
Specifications: The One-piece 3.0 implant is crafted from titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) with a Resorbable Blast Texturing (RBT) surface, available in 3.0mm diameter and lengths of 12, 15, and 18mm. The Overdenture system offers similar specifications with additional collar height options of 2 or 4mm.
Key Features: Both systems are designed for maximum strength with minimal profiles, suitable for limited space areas, and support single-stage protocols to minimize surgical trauma and enhance aesthetics.
Success Rates: The One-piece 3.0 implant has a 96.7% success rate when immediately loaded, with an overall success rate of 99.2%.
Treatment Planning: The One-piece 3.0 is ideal for replacing maxillary lateral and mandibular incisors, requiring good oral health and stable occlusal relationships. Adequate bone volume and density are essential for success.
Procedures: Detailed procedures include treatment planning, drilling sequences, osteotomy initialization, and implant placement, emphasizing the use of the BioHorizons Surgical Kit for optimal results.
Accessories: Available accessories include surgical kits, handpiece adapters, and nylon inserts for overdenture stabilization.
Innovation and Service: BioHorizons is dedicated to developing evidence-based products and providing excellent customer service through a global network.
Osteotomy Preparation and Implant Placement: The procedure involves using 2.0mm Depth Drills with fixed stops for implant lengths, and a Finishing Drill for osteotomy widening. Implants are threaded at 30 rpm or less to avoid overtorque.
Implant Pick-up and Placement: Implants are seated with the crestal bone level between the surface treatment top and abutment flare, using a Handpiece or Ratchet Adapter for sterile transfer.
Abutment Preparation and Impression Making: A closed-tray technique is used for full-arch impressions, with modifications done under continuous irrigation to prevent overheating.
Comfort Cap Provisionalization and Final Prosthesis: A Comfort Cap is used during healing, with the final prosthesis delivered after 3-6 months, depending on bone density and function.
Alternative Provisionalization Options: Options include thermoform trays, provisional shell crowns, or Maryland Bridges, evaluated individually.
Overdenture Treatment Planning: Overdenture implants stabilize tissue-supported dentures, with a flapped procedure recommended for bone availability concerns. Typically, four implants are recommended for dense mandibular bone.
Drilling Sequence and Site Access: The drilling sequence emphasizes sterile irrigation and a pumping motion to prevent overheating, with the Alignment Drill initiating the osteotomy.
Position and Angulation Verification: Trial Implants verify position and angulation, with a minimum center-to-center spacing of 6mm recommended.
Implant Placement: Implants are threaded at 30 rpm or less, with the ball portion above the soft tissue, using a Bone Tap for dense cortical bone sites.
Specifications and Procedures: Detailed instructions for handling and placing overdenture implants emphasize not touching the implant surface and ensuring proper alignment.
Osseointegration and Initial Stabilization: Adequate time for osseointegration is required before full loading, with initial stability achieved using a soft lining in the transitional prosthesis.
Surgical Techniques: Flapless surgery uses soft reline material, while flapped surgery uses a tissue conditioner, with protective disks or rubber dam material for initial stabilization.
Denture Relief and Chairside Pick-up: The process involves relieving dentures for housings and performing chairside pick-up without directional rings, using Black Positioning Inserts.
Directional Rings and Clinical Inserts: Directional rings maintain parallel positioning, with clinical inserts available in various retention levels, replaced every 6-12 months.
Warranty and Return Policy: BioHorizons offers a lifetime warranty on implants and prosthetics, with additional warranties on instruments and software, emphasizing the use of original components.
Quality and Compliance: BioHorizons products comply with the Medical Devices Directive and carry the CE mark, with a commitment to quality management standards.

The 3.0mm Answer for Areas of Limited Space BioHorizons One-piece 3.0 is a small-diameter implant for the long-term treatment of missing maxillary laterals and mandibular incisors. It allows treatment of spaces that cannot be handled with larger two-piece implants when one-stage surgery is possible. Maximum Strength - Minimum Profile. Its one-piece, titanium alloy construction provides maximum strength, while its 3.0mm diameter allows placement in areas of limited tooth-to-tooth spacing. The One-piece 3.0 has been shown to be stronger when loaded to failure than other implants less than 4mm in...

One-piece 3.0 Drill Sequence The recommended drilling sequence for One-piece 3.0 Alignment Drill implants is shown at the right. Clinicians may opt to omit an Trial Implant instrument when deemed appropriate due to variations in bone density or morphology. Depth Drill Finishing Drill Bone Tap One-piece 3.0 Implant Drilling should be done under a constant stream of sterile irrigation, with a drill speed of 850 to 2,500 rpm. A pumping motion should be employed to help prevent overheating the bone. BioHorizons recommends the replacement of drills after 12 to 20 osteotomies.4 Site Access The Tissue...

OSTEOTOMY INITIALIZATION / ANGULATION Osteotomy Initialization The Alignment Drill is used to initiate the osteotomy to a depth of 5mm. The cutting surface of the drill hub prepares the crestal bone to accept the stop geometry of the Depth Drill and the Trial Implant. The drill has an aggressive cutting geometry to function well in dense cortical bone. It also has the ability to side-cut, allowing clinicians to revise the position or angulation of the osteotomy prior to proceeding to the 2.0mm Depth Drills. Care must be taken to ensure the drill does not overprepare the osteotomy to a greater...
