Bed Head Unit Hospitalization Care BTL 900 Each room shall be equipped with a white powder coated (RAL 9016 – epoxy quality finish) aluminium horizontal bed head unit having 3 compartments and 2 covers ( electricity and medical gases). Its length shall be identical to that of the wall on which it shall be mounted minus 20 cm (8 in). The unit shall be installed at a height of 160 cm (63 in) from the bottom of the unit to the finished floor. Power and medical gas supply shall come in through from the ceiling, in aluminium raceways the same finishing as the unit, and installed either in the bathroom or in the delivery room depending on their layout. The electrical and medical gas fittings are completely modular, which allows the components to be extended, moved, removed or maintained without cutting the housing. The design of the technical unit also allows an invisible yet efficient ventilation of the medical gas compartment, and a mechanical separation between electrical and medical gas networks. The covers shall be wired to the earth at the bottom of the unit. No prong systems. Each lamp shall be individually and firmly attached to its batten which can be easily disconnected and removed from the unit. So to ensure that at least one of the two lamps works properly, ELV power supply shall be provided for each lighting control as well as for the control of motorized shutters. The round curves and smooth surface of the product enable its safe use and easy cleaning. As a Biolume product of the “ BTL 900 ” type or equivalent, for each bed it shall be equipped with : General up lighting (100 to 150 lux) by a built-in 58w fluorescent tube controlled from the entrance of the room by single ignition. Care lighting (300 lux on the work station) by a built-in 18w fluorescent tube controlled from the bed by handset. The lightings shall not be in the direct view of the patient and staff as per international recommendations. 4 earthed 2x10/16 A sockets pre-wired on 2 lines. 2 earthed 2x10/16 A anticonfusion sockets pre-wired on 1 line. 1 RJ45 socket for computer (to be connected to the ELV network) 1 RJ45 socket for telephone (to be connected to the ELV network) 1 pre-piped Oxygen (O2) outlet 1 pre-piped Vacuum outlet 1 30 x 10 mm (1.18 x 0.39 in) aluminium equipment carrier wall-mounted rail* the same length as the unit and installed at a height of 120cm (50 in) from the floor. * Please note that it is necessary to plan reinforcements in case of mounting on thin partitions.
