Product catalog summary
Product Overview: The HAMMERLOCK® Continuous Active Compression Implant is designed for the lesser toes, offering a unique fixation system that adjusts to canal width and maintains compression with minimal stress on cortical walls. It is available in straight and angled designs to meet various clinical needs and comes in a range of sizes to fit different patient anatomies.
Specifications: The implant features a patent-pending insertion system for precise implantation, a Squeeze Tab Retention System for quick insertion, and a linear body design to enhance the fusion interface. It is FDA cleared, CE marked, and patented.
Sizes and Catalog Numbers: The implant is available in various sizes and angles, with specific catalog numbers for each size. Sizes range from large to petite, with detailed measurements provided for each.
Canal Preparation Guidelines: The document provides detailed guidelines for preparing the medullary canals, including recommended drill bits and broaches for each implant size. It notes that varying anatomies may require different drill bits.
Implantation Procedure: The procedure involves preparing the site, drilling, broaching, and inserting the implant using supplied forceps. The implant must be stored in a freezer before use and implanted within a specific time frame to prevent premature activation.
Removal Procedure: Instructions are provided for removing the implant, which involves securing it with forceps and gently distracting it to disengage the barbs.
Post-Operative Recommendations: A conservative post-operative protocol is recommended, including immobilization for approximately six weeks. Patient compliance is emphasized for successful outcomes.
Additional Information: Further details on indications, contraindications, and warnings are available in the Instructions for Use included with the implant packaging or on the company's website.

After site preparation and resections, prepare the medullary canals by drilling into each canal with the recommended drill bit (see Canal Preparation Guidelines chart below). If necessary, the reamer may be used to resect the articular cartilage. Open the Forceps to expose the distal end of the implant. While flexing/ distracting the joint, insert the distal end of the implant into the distal fragment until contact is made with the Tab. NOTE: Halsted Forceps (supplied) may be used to pinch the distal arms of the implant together prior to reduction. Without rotating, broach into each canal with...
