The Hemoconcentrator consists of a cylindrical polycarbonate housing, with a side connector for solute drainage, also ready to use in vacuum drainage. Inside the housing, there are filtering polyestersulphone fibers, attached with polyurethane resin. On the housing's tips, there are two polycarbonate caps with inlet and outlet luer connectors for the blood that flows inside the fiber. The Hemoconcentrator is indicated for blood ultrafiltration to promote fluid removal after procedures using hemodilution, as during heart surgeries using cardiopulmonary bypass.
