Alignment Verification
This document outlines the procedures for verifying alignment during surgical operations involving the femur and tibia. It provides detailed steps for both femur and tibia setup, registration, and alignment verification.

Femur Setup and Registration
- Position the cutting block using standard intramedullary instrumentation, minimizing the use of pins for preliminary fixation.
- Place the cutting block adapter in the saw blade slot with reflective marker spheres facing the camera.
- Perform femur registration by acquiring the femoral head center, mechanical axis, and rotational references.
- Adjust the femoral cutting block’s position and orientation as needed, and repeat registration if necessary.
- Measure the distance to the cutting slot on the distal condyles to determine resection height.

Tibia Setup and Registration
- Position the cutting block using standard extramedullary instrumentation, minimizing the use of pins for preliminary fixation.
- Place the cutting block adapter in the saw blade slot with reflective marker spheres facing the camera.
- Perform tibia registration by acquiring malleolar points, tibial mechanical axis, and AP direction.
- Adjust the tibial cutting block’s position and orientation as needed, and repeat registration if necessary.
- Measure the distance from the tibial resection plane to the cutting slot to determine resection height.
