These manometers can also be used in circle circuits where it is not a built-in feature. The use of a manometer prevents iatrogenic barotrauma to the patient while still ensuring adequate pressures are reached for optimal ventilation. The In-Circuit Patient Pressure Manometers have a standard 22mm connector that can be used on all circuit types. There is an adaptor for use with a T-Piece circuit which has 15mm tubing. Measurements are in cmH 2 O Colour-coded range of 0-60cmH 2 O Can be attached to all non-rebreathing and circle circuits Many different attachment locations: common gas outlet, reservoir bag, on the inspiratory or expiratory port in a circle circuit or at the connection of the circuit tubing and the endotracheal tube (note - this will add to apparatus dead space) Watch our video here where Courtney will show you how to attach a couple of IPPV accessories to your circuit.
