Product catalog summary
General Electrode Care Instructions
1. Disposable Needle Electrodes
These electrodes are supplied sterile and should be inspected before use. They remain sterile as long as the packaging is intact. They have a use-by date and should not be reused. After use, dispose of them in a puncture-resistant sharps container following approved medical sharps disposal procedures.
2. Reusable Needle Electrodes
If the symbols indicating 'Do not reuse' or 'Do not re-sterilize' are absent, these electrodes can be reused and re-sterilized. Clean them with a soft cloth and mild detergent or alcohol. Sterilize using Ethylene Oxide gas or a steam autoclave at 120°C (250°F) and 103kPa (15 psi) for 15 minutes. Remove electrical stimulator probes and felt-pads before sterilizing.
3. Reusable Surface Electrodes, Lead Wires, and Stimulating Bar Electrodes
If the 'Do not reuse' symbol is absent, these devices can be reused. Clean with water and detergents or enzymatic products, using a soft brush to remove foreign materials. Disinfect with high-level disinfectants for electrodes in contact with mucous membranes or non-intact skin, and intermediate-level disinfectants for those in contact with intact skin. Avoid prolonged soaking or corrosive agents to maximize product life.
4. Disposable Felt-Pads
These are non-sterile and should not be reused. Discard after use following bio-hazardous waste procedures.
