Product catalog summary
Introduction
Caltag has developed the TransFix® Vacuum Blood Collection Tube specifically for stabilizing Circulating Tumour Cells (CTCs) in blood samples. This innovation addresses the challenge of low CTC populations in patient blood, which are crucial for accurate cell counts and molecular target analysis.

Product Specifications
The TransFix® tubes are designed to stabilize blood samples at the time of collection, significantly extending the integrity of cells. This allows for effective downstream enrichment and enumeration of CTCs.

Product Formats
  • CTC-TVT-09-1: Single 9 mL Vacuum Blood Collection Tube
  • CTC-TVT-09-2: Pack of 2, 9 mL Vacuum Blood Collection Tubes
  • CTC-TVT-09-50: Pack of 50, 9 mL Vacuum Blood Collection Tubes

Case Studies
1. A study by Fasching et al. assessed CTCs using a novel filtration-based method in a phase IIIb multicenter study for postmenopausal, HER2-negative, estrogen receptor-positive, advanced breast cancer patients.
2. Magbanua et al. proposed a novel strategy for detecting and enumerating rare cell populations in metastatic cancer patients using automated microfluidic filtration and multiplex immunoassay.

Usage
The product is intended for research use only. Further information can be accessed online at Caltag's website.

CTC TVT Flyer-1

TransFix Stabilisation of Circulating Tumour CellsCaltag have developed a specific TransFix® Vacuum Blood Collection Tube for Stabilising Circulating Tumour Cells (CTCs) in blood samples. The number of CTC populations present in patient blood is very low, therefore the usefulness of CTC assessments depends upon accurate cell counts and the corresponding analysis of molecular targets. The natural degradation of blood samples can mean these rare populations are lost. TransFix® stabilises blood samples at the time of collection and has been shown to significantly extend the integrity of cells within the samples allowing for downstream enrichment and enumeration of CTCs. Assessment of circulating tumor cells with a novel, filtration-based method, in a phase IIIb multicenter study for postmenopausal, HER2-negative, estrogen receptor-positive, advanced breast cancer patients.
