SLING FITTING GUIDE HIGHBACK SLINGS: FITTING WITH CLIENT IN SEATED POSITION Push the sling evenly down the back of the patient, to about 25mm below the base of the spine. If it helps, use a slide sheet Attach the leg lift clips and shoulder clips to the hoist cradle. (To ensure correct use of clips, please see attached page) Pull the sling under the thighs of the patient, making sure there are no twists or folds in the fabric After checking that nothing is snagged complete the transfer. To position the person into a chair ensure the cradle is adjusted to have the person in a seated posture.
