^^^^atent Pending^* Hinged Block Plantarflexion KEY CONCEPT: PLANTARFLEXION STOP, FREE DORSIFLEXION The DAFO 2 Softy brace uses a soft foam liner to provide more comfortable control of a fixed, less correctable foot. This is combined with the same hinged proximal upright as the standard DAFO 2 that is used for blocking plantarflexion. The proxi- mal upright moves unrestricted with the dorsiflexion of the foot. The hinged design is ideal for patients with well developed ambulatory skills. The DAFO 2 Softy also provides a great deal of medial-lateral stability in both swing and stance phases. The soft foam liner is ideal for patients with challenging foot anatomy, difficult to correct feet, or those prone to pressure points and irritation. 1.
