DAFO 3.5 Softy - 1

Patent Pending Plantarflexion Resist KEY CONCEPT: FLEXIBLE POSTERIOR UPRIGHT PROVIDES ANKLE PLANTARFLEXION RESIST, DORSIFLEXION RESIST The DAFO 3.5 Softy brace uses a soft foam liner to provide more comfortable control of a fixed, less correctable foot. This is combined with the same leaf-spring style proximal upright as the standard DAFO 3.5 that is used to resist ankle movement. Actual resistive force of proximal upright is determined at the time of manufacture: anywhere from very flexible to semi-rigid. The proximal upright also provides good medial-lateral stability in both the swing and stance phase. For best results, brace height must be sufficient to allow adequate flex of the proximal upright. The soft foam liner is ideal for patients with challenging foot anatomy, difficult to correct feet, or those prone to pressure points and irritation. RECOMMENDED FOR PATIENTS WHO: 1. Have strong fixing patterns in supination or pronation. 2. Have some voluntary control that is very useful and can use the flexible control to increase overall function. 3. Have mild knee hyperextension. 4. Need assistance in managing knee position in flexion and/or extension. 5. Have difficult to correct feet or feet with sensitive boney prominences. Hindfoot: Softy Wrap-Around control Forefoot: Softy Wrap-Around control, Hindfoot stable Ankle: Resist Plantarflexion, Resist Dorsiflexion, Excellent Medial-Lateral Control This DAFO 3.5 is shown with instep, forefoot, and anterior stop (pretibial) straps, soft foam inner liner.
