Although we’re now curious about whether this design will also be good for some sensory issues, the immediate goal was to have SOFT good contoured support, with excellent pressure relief along the metatarsal heads. We are using a special sandwich of foams for the top surface and SOFT (the most important part) a substructure that gives support to the hindfoot and stops behind the metatarsal heads to provide a drop off for this area. FIRM These shoe inserts are ordered from the paper sizing charts, or from sizing with casting footplates. If you are working with a foot that is not on the chart, either in size or shape, you can cast the foot for custom manufacturing. To avoid too much volume change when it’s time to wear them, pull out the existing insoles in the shoes that are being worn before inserting them.
