Product catalog summary
Overview
The Nucleotome® Automated Discectomy System by Clarus Medical is designed for minimally invasive cervical and lumbar discectomy procedures. It offers a less invasive alternative to traditional discectomy methods, aiming to reduce recovery time and postoperative complications.
Specifications and Features
  • The system includes various probe sizes and accessories such as forceps, guide needles, and aspiration canisters.
  • The Nucleotome Console is compact, lightweight, and features adjustable cut rates and an elapsed time display.
  • The system's vacuum design aspirates nucleus tissue into the probe, where an inner cutter blade shaves and flushes it to a tissue filter.
  • The blunt probe tip and side operating cutter enhance safety during procedures.
Procedures
  • Percutaneous Discectomy: Indicated for patients with contained herniated discs after failed conservative treatment. It involves minimal risks and allows for same-day discharge.
  • Automated Open Lumbar Discectomy (AOLD): Combines benefits of traditional and limited discectomy methods, aiming to lower postoperative pain and recurrence rates while preserving healthy tissue.
Clinical Efficacy
  • Studies indicate a success rate of 75% or higher in properly selected patients, with complication rates consistently below 1%.
  • Clinical references support the efficacy and safety of the Nucleotome system in reducing recurrence and postoperative pain.
Ordering Information
  • Various models and probe sets are available, including short and long probes, and Micro II probes for specific applications.
  • Accessories include different types of forceps and components for disc access.
