Flow Rate Sensor FRS

Flow Rate Sensor FRS

Flow Rate Sensor FRS

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Flow Rate Sensor (FRS) by Copley Scientific is designed for accurate inlet flow rate measurement, crucial for delivered dose uniformity (DDU) and aerodynamic particle size distribution (APSD) testing in orally inhaled and nasal drug products (OINDP).
Specifications: The FRS operates on a thermal (MEMS) principle with a standard flow rate range of -200 to +200 StdL/min and a resolution of 0.1 StdL/min. It offers a standard flow rate accuracy of typically +/-1.75% of reading. The volumetric flow rate range is also -200 to +200 L/min with similar resolution and accuracy parameters.
Features: The FRS provides low flow resistance, fast data output, and bi-directional air flow measurement. It supports data connectivity options and is compatible with Breath Actuation Controller BAC 100i and Critical Flow Controller TPK 100i via RS-232 connection.
Applications: The FRS is used in conjunction with flow controllers to optimize flow rate measurement for compendial-compliant testing. It is part of an inhaler test system setup, including the Inhaler Testing Workstation ITW and Low Capacity Vacuum Pump LCP6.
Technical Details: The device requires an inlet filter and offers factory calibrations only. It is powered by a 5V DC mains power supply and provides reporting capabilities via RS-232.
Accessories: Various adapters and kits are available for different testing setups, including inline adapter kits and re-calibration certificates.
Compliance: The FRS comes with a calibration certificate compliant with Ph. Eur./USP standards.

Flow Rate Sensor FRS-1

Flow Rate Sensor FRS Optimises flow rate measurement for compendial-compliant testing The Flow Rate Sensor FRS, a dedicated flow sensor, shown below as part of an inhaler test system set-up with the Inhaler Testing Workstation ITW, Critical Flow Controller TPK 100i and Low Capacity Vacuum Pump LCP6. The integrity of delivered dose uniformity (DDU) and aerodynamic particle size distribution (APSD) data can be compromised if the inlet flow rate (the flow rate at the entrance to the DUSA or induction port) used during testing is inaccurate/inconsistent. Designed and manufactured using Copley expertise, the Flow Rate Sensor FRS provides consistent and accurate inlet flow rate measurement for delivered dose uniformity (DDU) testing and aerodynamic particle size distribution (APSD) measurement. The FRS is tailor-made for use with our range of Flow Controllers to determine and control test flow rate in an optimised orally inhaled and nasal drug product (OINDP) testing system. Volumetric Mode: Calculation of flow rate based on live temperature/pressure conditions Data connectivity options Standard Mode: Calculation of flow rate based on pre-set temperature/pressure conditions Fast data output, ideal for understanding changes in flow rate, such as rise-times Robust, portable, device Bi-directional air flow measurement
