Smokerlyzer® CO Chart Overview

This document provides a reference chart for interpreting Carbon Monoxide (CO) levels measured by the Smokerlyzer® device, used in smoking assessment.

Reference and Calculation Method

The %COHb (percentage of carboxyhemoglobin) values are calculated from CO parts per million (COppm) based on the method described by Jarvis M et al. (1986) in the publication "Low cost Carbon Monoxide monitors in smoking assessment," Thorax 41, pp 886-887.

Chart Data and Interpretation

The chart lists COppm values from 1 to 30 alongside their corresponding %COHb values, which range approximately from 0.79% to 5.43%. This allows clinicians to estimate the level of COHb in the blood based on the COppm reading from the device.
