Vapor Monitors How To Protect Yourself From Toxic Chemical Vapors The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) have established permissible exposure levels (PEL) for healthcare professionals to Glutaraldehyde, Formaldehyde, and Nitrous Oxide. NevinLabs offers a monitor for measuring each of these potentially toxic substances. The monitor is clipped to the shirt collar or blouse, or placed in the room for area monitoring. The user records the “start” and “stop” times, and returns the monitor to Nevin in the mailer provided. In about a week, the user receives a report indicating actual exposure in PPM, and whether it is above or below acceptable level.
