• Prepare the payload according to specifications and ensure compliance with regulations if classified as dangerous goods.
• Pour 2.7kg of dry ice into the EPS 45 base.
• Place the payload on top of the dry ice.
• Pour the remaining dry ice to fully surround the payload.
• Securely fit the EPS 45 lid and close the BioTherm 45 Outer lid, applying necessary shipping labels.

The amount of dry ice required depends on the duration needed to maintain specific temperatures (-20°C or -60°C). An initial mass of 2.7kg is always placed before the payload. The tables provide guidance on the mass of dry ice needed above the payload and the total recommended mass for different durations, along with the remaining payload volume.

• For -20°C: Ranges from 8.0kg to 24.0kg above the payload for durations from 48:00 to 120:00 hours.
• For -60°C: Ranges from 8.7kg to 25.8kg above the payload for the same durations.

These calculations are based on loss rates determined from qualification testing with a dry ice fill of 28.4kg.
