Introduction
StatusBlue by DMG America is presented as a modern alternative to traditional alginates for creating situation impressions in dental practices. It is designed to be faster, cleaner, and more efficient, saving valuable chair time for clinicians.
Advantages Over Alginates
StatusBlue eliminates the mess and time-consuming nature of hand-mixing associated with alginates. It offers a homogeneous and bubble-free application, ensuring precise reproduction of oral situations. The product is particularly beneficial for temporaries, model-cast dentures, orthodontic models, and opposing jaw models.
Product Application
The application process involves using DMG Tray Adhesive followed by StatusBlue in a border-lock tray. The impression can then be filled with Luxatemp from DMG, contributing to an estimated saving of 55 extra hours of chair time annually.
Ordering Information
StatusBlue is available in various formats, including Automix Canisters and MixStar Cartridges, with accompanying tips and guns for application.
Physical Properties
StatusBlue is composed of vinyl polysiloxanes with a compression set of ≤ 0.7% and a Shore A Hardness of approximately 40. It maintains dimensional stability with a change of ≤ 0.4% after 24 hours and does not require moisture retention.
Efficiency and Time Savings
Compared to alginates, StatusBlue significantly reduces the time required for impressions. The total time for taking an impression with StatusBlue is 2:30 minutes, saving 4 minutes per impression compared to alginates.
Additional Benefits
The A-silicone formula of StatusBlue provides a firm consistency and better patient acceptance. Its unique viscosity allows for better flow under bite pressure, capturing exceptional accuracy and detail. Additionally, it can be cold sterilized and re-poured as needed, unlike alginates.
