Arteriovenus Fistula Medication (AVF) Components of AVF dialysis kit can be the following: • Absorbent and waterproof sterile sheet to be placed under the patient’s arm or to create a sterile field during the dressing procedure. It consists of an artificial communication between an artery and a vein, obtained through surgical procedure, in order to divert high pressure arterial blood into the high capacity venous system to obtain adequate blood flows to carry out dialysis treatment. The procedure usually lasts 4 hours and is performed 3 times a week.
