It features embedded processing power with hardware prioritization and very low jitter for reliable communication. The interface card encapsulates all Ethernet-relevant functions on a standardized PC/104 module, making it a powerful c o m m u n i c at i o n m o d u l e t h a t h a n d l e s va r i o u s E t h e r n et communications protocols. By offloading these tasks from the host system, the D153E lowers processing performance requirements, reducing the need for additional CPU power. Additionally, the D153E is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 and supports features like AutoPolarity, Auto-Negotiation, and Auto-MDI-X. duagon offers different cybersecurity packages to harden the host system. The available packages include features such as secure communication for remote access, centralized user access management, secure event logging and secure firmware updates. With duagon’s driver kit the D153E, which features an easy-to-use UART emulation, can be integrated very quickly on almost any host system through a small register set, therefore the device does not need a wide address range compared to a solution based on dualported memory. An optional full-featured 3-port switch can be integrated to enable ring topologies directly on the D153E. The optional bypass relays keep the ring topology also in case of a malfunction of the D153E. The device further supports the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP) according to IEEE 802.1w. For additional redundancy protocol please contact duagon. RAIL-SPECIFIC NETWORK PROTOCOLS The D153E is prepared for the “Ethernet on traction vehicles” standard IEC 61375-3-4. It supports various rail-specific Ethernet protocols like TRDP, CIP, IPTCom, PROFINET, UDP or TCP/IP. Optionally the device supports VLAN-tagged packets according to IEEE 802.1Q. This feature may be used to separate network traffic, e.g. for different protocols. HIGHLY INTEGRATED HARDWARE The interface card integrates the magnetics with a galvanic isolation of 1.5 kVrms, the PHY, the complete protocol controller and a simple host interface.
