2. Introduction The i214 is an intelligent high-precision analog interface module for the ionia™ system. The module has 3 analog outputs and 6 analog inputs. The analog output group and the analog input group are galvanically isolated from each other, each group having its own reference ground. There are three different function groups available on the i214: • Auxiliary power supply Each of the groups features its own reference ground. The soft-core controller manages the operation of the analog outputs and inputs and communicates with the ionia™ using direct connection over the Backplane.
