VPLED SERIES

VPLED SERIES

Product catalog summary
Overview: The VPLED series of LEDs are designed for variable width pulse generation ranging from nanoseconds to milliseconds, as well as continuous wave (CW) operation with power outputs in the milliwatt range. These LEDs are optimized for long photoluminescence lifetime measurements using the Multi-Channel Scaling (MCS) detection method. They feature compact, maintenance-free, and user-friendly designs, suitable for integration with Edinburgh Instruments spectrometers or other experimental setups due to their external trigger capability.
Key Features:
  • Optimized for MCS detection.
  • 14 pre-set pulse widths from 50 ns to 1 ms.
  • External trigger capability for pulse width and repetition rate adjustment.
  • Operation in CW mode with spectrally purified output.
  • Compact plug-and-play design with extremely low RF radiation.
Specifications:
  • Available wavelengths range from 255 nm to 1300 nm with a typical spectral width (FWHM) of 10 ± 4 to 50 ± 5 nm.
  • Typical average power in CW mode ranges from 0.1 to 2.0 mW, while peak power at minimum pulse width ranges from 0.4 to 5.0 mW.
  • Laser classification is Class 3R for 410 nm to 770 nm and Class 3B for other wavelengths.
  • Pulse widths available in ns (<70, 100, 200, 500) and μs (1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000).
  • External trigger width mode allows pulse width and repetition rate to be defined by external trigger input with a maximum duty cycle of 50%.
  • Bias supply is 15 Vdc ± 5%, 15W with a 2.1mm DC jack.
  • Trigger output is SMA, NIM Standard, and trigger input is Hirose HR10A-7P-4P(73) with TTL > 50 ns pulse.
  • Physical dimensions are 168 mm length x 64 mm x 64 mm, with a collimator tube of ø 30 mm x 38 mm, and weight is 750 g.
Safety and Compliance: The product is classified as a Class 3B/3R LED product, and users should avoid exposure to the beam as it may be harmful to the human eye and skin. It complies with US federal laser product performance standards and IEC 60825-1:2014 regulations.

VPLED SERIES-1

VPLED SERIES Adjustable Pulse Width UV & VIS LEDs The VPLED series of LEDs provide variable width pulses from ns to ms, as well as CW operation with powers in the mW range. They are optimised for long photoluminescence lifetime measurements using the Multi-Channel Scaling (MCS) detection method. The width of the excitation pulses is easily controlled from the VPLED allowing quick optimisation of the measurement conditions. The VPLED diodes are compact, maintenance free, and user-friendly. Although they are designed to match Edinburgh Instruments spectrometers, they can be incorporated into any experiment thanks to their external trigger capability.
