VAMP Closed Blood Sampling System

VAMP Closed Blood Sampling System

VAMP Closed Blood Sampling System

Product catalog summary
Overview: The VAMP Closed Blood Sampling System is designed for venous and arterial blood management protection. This guide provides a quick reference for priming, drawing clearing volume, and obtaining blood samples using the system.
Priming Procedure:
  • Squeeze and hold the flexures to slightly raise the plunger, facilitating the flow of the priming solution.
  • Ensure the shut-off valve is open (parallel to the tubing) and hold the sample site above the VAMP reservoir at a 45° angle.
  • Initiate flow by pulling the Snap-Tab of the TruWave disposable pressure transducer.
  • Slowly deliver the priming solution to remove air, then close the plunger and connect to the patient’s catheter.
Drawing the Clearing Volume:
  • Squeeze the flexures firmly and slowly pull up the reservoir plunger over 3-5 seconds until it reaches its 5 mL capacity.
  • Close the shut-off valve by turning the handle perpendicular to the tubing.
Blood Sampling from Z-site Needleless Sample Site:
  • Swab the sample site and insert a cannula with a syringe or direct-draw unit.
  • If using a direct-draw unit, insert a vacuum tube and draw the required blood volume.
  • After the last sample, remove the vacuum tube first, then pull out the VAMP direct-draw unit.
  • Open the shut-off valve by turning the handle parallel to the tubing.
  • Push down on the plunger smoothly over 3-5 seconds until the flexures lock in place and all fluid is reinfused.
  • Flush the system clear by pulling the Snap-Tab on the TruWave transducer and swab the sample site to remove excess blood.
