Quality in Sterilization Supplies Steam self-contained Biological Indicators TecSpores® Self-Contained Biological Indicators for Steam Sterilization are developed to control steam sterilization processes at 121-134ºC. Each tube contains a nominal population of Geobacillus stearothermophilus ATCC7953 spores embedded in a paper support and incorporates a purple growth indicator medium inside a glass vial that evidences bacterial growth. The biological indicator shall be packed together with the load to be sterilized and after the process the spore carrier shall be embedded in the culture medium, incubated between 55 ° to 60 ° C and after 24h the result is final. A successful sterilization process results in a permanence of purple color in the culture medium. A defective sterilization process results in a turn from purple to yellow in the culture medium.
