CHN analysis in solvents using the vario EL cube equipped with the vario Liquid Sampler For the fully automated analysis of liquid samples, all instruments of the vario cube series can be equipped with the vario liquid sampler (VLS). Injection takes place via a septum free injector port directly into the hot zone of the combustion furnace. Different organic solvents have been analysed using the vario EL cube equipped with the vario liquid sampler. Hexadecane has been used for calibration and daily factor determination. The average CH contents and corresponding absolute standard deviations are given below. organic solvents The results show that the CH content of the different organic solvents could be analysed with a very high accuracy and precision. The vario liquid sampler (VLS) is an excellent alternative to the well established capsule press method. When many liquid samples have to be analyzed this method is much less labour intensive. For samples with higher viscosity or a frequent change between solid and liquid mode, the capsule press or the vario MAX with its unique crucible technology is recommended.
