Dual - 1

Design Rationale: The modular Dual Total Hip, now in clinical use since 1985, is a non-controversial, cemented femoral stem for primary total hip arthroplasty. The stem's name traces its origin back to the fact that this cemented hip stem was originally presented in conjunction with a cementless femoral stem option, which has been discontinued in favour of a cement only approach. Design Features: * Proximal cement collar prevents subsidence * Optimised neck/ head ratio facilitates accurate ligament tensioning * Matt surface finish facilitates better 'grip' at cement-implant interface * Installed utilising a modified Charnley-Muller surgical technique Material: Manufactured from Hi-strength drop forged Chromium-Cobalt (ISO 5832-4) or Stainless Steel (REX 734). These raw materials are sourced from leading CE-approved British suppliers, and machined on state of the art CNC machines. The Dual femoral stem is available in 6 stem sizes, the more popular sizes including a range of neck lengths (1/2, 3/4 and standard). When all these options are tallied, the Dual offers 10 unique stem options to choose from. Indicated for most routine cases where a primary total hip arthroplasty is recommended, including cases where patient presents a severely painful and/or disabled joint from osteoarthritis, traumatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis or congenital hip dysplasia; avascular necrosis of the femoral head; and acute traumatic fracture of the femoral head or neck. Certified CoCr (Cobalt Chrome Molybdenum) (iso 58324)
