Reading and Interpretation: Determine microorganism density by comparing with a chart, with results expressed in germs/ml of urine. Color changes indicate specific activities and microorganisms, such as:
- Pink to Burgundy: Escherichia coli (positive ß-glucuronidase activity).
- Blue to Blue Green: Enterococcus species or KES Group (positive ß-glucosidase activity).
- Orange to Brown: Proteus, Providencia, Morganella Group (positive tryptophan deaminase activity).
- Green: Presumed Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
- Colorless: Indicates Gram-positive cocci or other Gram-negative bacilli, including Candida.
