MED-VIZION LIGHTING - 1

MED-VIZION™ LIGHTING PATIENT EXPERIENCE AMBIENT LIGHTING SYSTEMS   With the evolution of diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems, the medical community has gained unprecedented ability to detect patient disease and trauma and determine effective clinical solutions. The development and commissioning of any MRI site is an extremely expensive undertaking. Quite often the interior design of the MR suite is a simple, white color to save the expense of extensive design elements. This condition has left many MRI suites in a somewhat sterile and clinical state. In many cases patients feel apprehensive as they do not know what outcome awaits them as they enter the MRI. ETS-Lindgren's Med-Vizion Patient Experience Ambient Lighting Systems provide MRI staff the flexibility to adjust both color hues and luminosity of an MRI suites’ interior. MED-VIZION AMBIENT LIGHTING SYSTEMS ■■Magnet Staff the Ability to Create a More attractive and Healing Environment within the Clinical Space Patient Stress and Anxiety Reduction Patient Comfort and Satisfaction ■■Increases ■■Installed Patient Throughput in New or Existing Construction without Major Site Renovations or Construction Modifications Benefits for the Patient The ability to alter the interior ambient lighting of the MRI suite can have a very beneficial effect on your patient’s emotional state. Colors have been proven to stimulate senses’ interaction with the local environment. The use of color can make an MRI experience seem less intimidating or anxiety provoking. Providing the MRI staff with the ability to enhance the interior color and intensity is a powerful tool with respect to overall patient care. There are four psychological primary colors - red, blue, yellow and green. They relate respectively to the body, the mind, the emotions and the essential balance between these three human elements. Research has determined that: ■■Green Relates to "Balance and Stability" ■■Violet Relates to "Spirituality" ■■Orange Provides "Comfort and Warmth" ■■Pink Instills "Physical Soothing" ■■Blue and Yellow Enhance "Optimism and Confidence" ■■White Provokes a Feeling of "Isolation" or "Being Cut Off" and Can Cause a Patient to be Uncomfortable and Cold The ability to change the interior lighting within the MRI from a clinical and stressful white to a more reassuring and physiologically soothing environment provides one additional tool for the staff to better manage the patient’s comfort. Benefits for the Facility Adding an Med-Vizion Ambient Lighting System into an MRI suite demonstrates the desire of the facility to stand out from the typical MRI. Patients that have had an engaging experience will be great promoters of your imaging service to their friends and acquaintances. Physicians will be more prone to refer their patients to a facility that has taken the time and made the investment to further their MRI service. System throughput can be enhanced when patients feel more at ease and comfortable.
