Sliding Shielded Door (SSD)

Sliding Shielded Door (SSD)

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document describes ETS-Lindgren's Sliding Shielded Door (SSD), designed for medical environments requiring both shielding and special access. It highlights the door's features, applications, operation, construction, performance, safety features, and warranty.
Features: The SSD allows easy transport between adjacent medical suites like MRI, X-ray, angiography, and CT. It has a fully automatic door system with a flat threshold, maintaining a sterile environment due to its fingerless sealing design. The door provides RF shielding for MRI protection and can be supplemented with lead shielding for radiation protection. It meets RF performance standards of all MRI equipment suppliers and uses a reliable pneumatic and logic system with a fail-safe operating mechanism.
Applications: The sliding door system is ideal for areas where optimal door opening is needed but space is limited for swinging doors. It is available in single or double door designs to facilitate easy movement of patient transport systems and support staff.
Operation: The SSD offers quiet, fully automatic operation with push-button switches, which can be remotely activated. It features a linear belt drive operator for smooth, fail-safe closing, and pressure-sensitive door leaves that reverse on contact. The system can be equipped with pressure-sensitive mats and motion sensors, and includes a hold-open safety switch.
Construction: The doors are 2.250” thick, incorporating RF shielding and optional lead shielding. They feature a heavy-duty frame for strength and durability, with an architecturally styled design suitable for hospitals. The fingerless sealing design is maintenance-free, replacing traditional gaskets and contact fingers.
Performance: The SSD system provides high attenuation levels, meeting or exceeding MRI vendor specifications. The sealing mechanism is cycle tested up to 2 million operations without failure.
Safety Features: The system includes emergency override and dump valves, reverting to manual operation in case of power or pneumatic failure. A power ON/OFF switch also functions as a hold-open feature.
Warranty: The product comes with a one-year warranty covering parts and labor, with options for extended warranties and maintenance agreements.

This pneumatically sealed door system represents a breakthrough in shielding, with a flat threshold for smooth patient transport. Shielding and can be supplemented with lead shielding for radiation protection. ETS-Lindgren's sliding door system is particularly suited for applications where the optimum door opening is desired, but where there is limited room for a swinging door system. 4' X 7' sliding leaf design or a wide, 8' X 7' double door design to permit patient transport systems and support staff to move together with ease. The SSD offers quiet, fully automatic operation with push button switches. These switches can be located at the MRI console for remote door activation. The linear belt drive operator provides for a smooth, fail-safe, mechanical closing. The servomotor, encoders, and logic hardware are concealed within an architecturally pleasing brushed aluminum transom header. Door reverse on contact should the opposing pressure exceed 28 lbs. of force. The cycle speed and braking of the door system can be adjusted for The sliding door system can also be equipped with pressure sensitive mats and uni-directional motion sensors that are activated by the approaching pedestrian traffic. The door system can be supplied with a hold-open safety switch, activated remotely at an operator console location. During pneumatic operation, the thermal bonded, tin coated surfaces expand to create a tight seal that eliminates outside ambient RF noise and helps maintain a sterile environment within the shielded area. Options include indicator switches that alert technicians of the position
