General Description
The EXL-s1 is a wireless inertial measurement unit (IMU) utilizing MEMS technology for motion measurement, acquisition, and transmission. It is equipped with a full set of sensors including gyroscope, magnetometer, accelerometer, vibration, and temperature sensors. The device is ideal for medical applications such as posture assessment, rehabilitation, gait monitoring, and joint biomechanics analysis. It also supports multimedia interactions and vibration analysis.
Data can be transmitted wirelessly via Bluetooth up to 10 meters and stored in the 1GB flash memory for long-term logging. The device supports motion characterization, statistical analysis, collision detection, and orientation estimation algorithms on its 32-bit CPU. Both hardware and software are customizable.
EXL-S1 Kit
The kit includes four sensor nodes, a tablet-based application for data logging, a USB hub for charging, USB cables, and a user manual. Sensor nodes capture inertial movements using accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers, and transmit data via Bluetooth to the tablet application. The application is user-friendly, requiring only the subject ID to start/stop data streaming. Data includes nine fields for sensor data and one additional field for marking significant events. The application is compatible with tablets, smartphones, and PCs.
The EXL series was developed as part of the FP7 EU CUPID project in collaboration with Micrel lab and Bio lab at the University of Bologna.

EXL-S1 KIT The Sensor Data Kit is composed by three main components: a set of four Sensor Nodes, one Tablet Based Application for data logging, one Hub USB to charge the batteries, one set of USB cables, user manual .
