Utah Arm

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Utah Arm Remote Power Modification is designed for patients who have difficulty using the standard On/Off switch, particularly those with bilateral upper extremity limb loss. This modification allows for the placement of an On/Off switch in a more accessible location and includes an electrode kit for touch activation.

Requirements
The modification requires an additional circuit board, a 5-wire harness, and a switch. It is incompatible with the i-limb®/bebionic® upgrade due to space constraints. The 5-wire harness is provided at no extra charge with a U3/U3+ purchase. Various switch designs are available, including electrode-activated options.

Adjustment
The circuit is located on the left side of the elbow, behind the motor. Two DIP switches control the remote power functionality: the top switch enables/disables the remote power, and the bottom switch sets the switch time to either instantaneous (0.25 seconds) or a 3-second hold.

Operation
When the DIP switch is ON, the forearm ON/OFF switch should remain ON. If the DIP switch is OFF, the forearm switch operates normally, and the remote switch is deactivated.

Parts and Switch Options
The manual lists various parts and switch options, including high and low-profile switches in different colors and an electrode kit.

Declaration of Conformity
The product complies with the Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC and is registered with the FDA (Registration No. 1723997).

An electrode kit is also available to simply touch the electrode to turn the prosthesis on or off. This modification requires an additional circuit board (installed by Motion Control), 5–Wire harness, and a switch....
