data file Gel, blot, and microarray analysis systems Typhoon Multislide Tray Typhoon Variable Mode Imager accessory systems for microarray analysis The Typhoon™ Multislide Tray is an accessory for scanning multiple slides on the Typhoon Variable Mode Imager instruments 8610, 9210 and 9410 for an application such as microarray analysis. It provides the capability to scan up to 30 slides at one time (Fig 1). The Typhoon Multislide Tray positions the slides at the proper height above the glass platen of the Typhoon Variable Mode Imager so that the instrument can accurately collect data. Compression pads from the lid hold slides securely in place while they are being scanned (Fig 2). The instrument scan control software provides a simple user interface for setting up the scan parameters for the slides as well as the flexibility to allow a user to scan one slide, single or multiple columns, or the entire tray of 30 slides at one time (Fig 3). The software creates individual files for the slides and recognizes barcode information. The user has the option to add this barcode information to the file name if desired.
