Product catalog summary
Overview: The Varius is a compact and robust pressure-reducing valve designed for precise dosage of medical gases from high-pressure cylinders. It features a ratchet disc for easy flow-rate setting, readability from multiple angles, and an integrated pressure relief valve. It is suitable for clinics, emergency medicine, and home care.
Specifications: The Varius is a single-stage piston pressure reducing valve with an inlet pressure of 200 bar and a fixed outlet pressure of 4.5 bar. It supports various inlet connections (DIN, NF, AGA, BS, PIN-Index, UNI) and flow rate ranges (1-15 l/min, 0.5-5 l/min, 0.1-1 l/min). The valve can handle gases like Air, O2, CO2, N2O, and test gas mixtures. It operates within a temperature range of -20° to +60° and is constructed with a brass body and nickel-plated external parts.
Features: The valve includes options for vertical or horizontal gauge positioning and can be fitted with up to three outlets for additional instruments. It is certified according to EN ISO 10524-1 and CE marked under the Medical Products Guideline 93/42/EEC.
Technical Data: The valve's dimensions are 40 x 105 x 97 mm, with a weight of 720 g for screw connection and 850 g for PIN Index connection. It offers measurement accuracy of ± 20% and various outlet options, including hose connectors and threaded nipples.
Ordering Information: When ordering, specify the gas type, flow-rate range, inlet type, outlet type, and gauge position. Model variants are available under Art.No GM60xx.

SWISS optio varius-1

Safety through Precision SWISS optio varius The varius at a glance : - Compact, robust construction - Ratchet disc for simple and user-friendly setting of the extraction flow-rate - Readability of the set flow-rate from both the front and the side - Accurate withdrawal, regardless of the position of the cylinder - Integrated pressure relief valve - Intended for use in clinics, emergency medicine and home care - The pressure reducing valve can be supplied with vertical or horizontal gauge The varius pressure-reducing valve with flow control for medical use is used for the precise dosage of medical gases from a high-pressure gas cylinder by means of an integrated, precise flow controller. Depending on the model, the pressure reducing valve can also be fitted with up to three outlets (4.5 bar not flow controlled) that can be used for the operation of respirator units and additional instruments in clinics. It must be observed that the cylinder has sufficient residual pressure depending on the required flow rate (s.technical data). The varius is certified in accordance with EN ISO 10524-1 (incl. ignition test for oxygen); CE marking according to the Guideline for Medical Products 93/42/EEC.
