Procedure:

Hybridisation: Detection of species-specific DNA probes (20 min).
Washing & Drying: Removal of unbound DNA (5 min).
Scanning & Analysis: Using CheckScanner™ and CheckReport™ Software to generate a report (10 min).

Working schedule for CarnoCheck® Identification within 3 hours AGEL EREY-N od ® Fo MACH Spin Nucleo 100 mg of a homogenous meat food product is collected. The DNA is extracted by the NucleoSpin® Food DNA Extraction Kit from Macherey Nagel. A fragment of the cytochrome b gene and a control target are amplified by PCR and fluorescently labeled. The amplification products are then hybridised to complementary DNA probes on the chip. The registered trademark of the mentioned manufacturer belongs to above mentioned company.

Each species is detected by a specific DNA probe present in five replicates. Unbound DNA is removed in the subsequent washing steps.
