Spore Count Apex EZTest is a self-contained biological indicator consisting of a sealed glass ampoule containing a proprietary soybean-casein digest broth with a pH indicator and a stainless-steel carrier inoculated with a monolayer of resistant spores, both enclosed in a clear polypropylene molded body. When the ampoule is crushed and incubated at the appropriate temperature, the organism can grow. The physical characteristic showing growth is a color change from purple to or toward yellow and/or turbidity. Apex Biological Indicator products are designed specifically for the pharmaceutical, food, and medical device industries that use hydrogen peroxide vapor for biodecontamination. Self-contained units are packaged in a resealable foil pouch of 30 units with a desiccant packet inside. Unit cap labels contain product type, organism, lot number, and expiration date. Each foil pouch contains a self-adhesive label on the outside to further identify the product.
