Apex EZTest ® SCBI Apex EZTest consists of a 9 mm x 0.2 mm stainless steel disc inoculated with Geobacillus stearothermophilus 12980 presented in a self-contained biological indicator (SCBI). The incorporated media ampoule not only eliminates the need for a clean bench to culture the BIs, but also minimizes the chance for post-exposure contamination during culturing. Stainless Steel Discs in Tyvek ®/Tyvek Pouches Apex BIs consist of a 9 mm diameter x 0.2 mm thick stainless steel disc inoculated with varying populations of either Geobacillus stearothermophilus 12980, Geobacillus stearothermophilus 7953 or Bacillus atrophaeus 9372. The discs are packaged in a medical-grade Tyvek envelope which is permeable to VH2O2. The envelope has a small hole to facilitate hanging and a thumb notch for peeling. Apex Tri-scale BIs (LOG-456) conveniently provide 3 different populations in one packaging configuration to assist in cycle development and initial validations. Bare Metal Stainless Steel Ribbon Apex Ribbons consist of a 6.4 mm x 70 mm stainless steel ribbon inoculated on one end with Geobacillus stearothermophilus 12980 and are thin and flexible for easy placement in tight locations. The ribbons are packaged in a Tyvek sleeve but are removed for exposure. The Sterile Tyvek Transfer Pocket (BMWK-750) facilitates transportation of the exposed ribbons to the laboratory for culturing. Spore Suspension Apex Spore Suspensions of Geobacillus stearothermophilus 12980 and 7953 contain sterilization resistant spores in an ethanol solution. These spore suspensions come in a 10 mL Wheaton® vial with a rubber stopper. They are specifically deasigned for VH2O2 decontamination processes. Releasat ® Purple Media Releasat Purple media is specially formulated soybean casein digest culture medium containing the pH indicator Bromocresol Purple. Each 16 x 100 mm tube contains 3.6 mL of medium. Test results are obtained during incubation by observing the medium which changes color from purple to or toward yellow and/or turbid if any spores have survived the process.
