HACH CHEMISTRIES, REAGENTS AND STANDARDS

Product catalog summary
Overview: Hach® specializes in high-quality reagents for water analysis, leveraging over 60 years of experience. Their products ensure reliable performance and accurate results, with expertise in both chemistry formulation and complete reagent systems.
Powder Pillows: These are cost-effective, long-lasting reagents sealed in aluminum foil pillows, suitable for various parameters and measuring ranges. They can be used with visual evaluation or Hach photometers.
Swiftests: A powder dispenser providing the correct amount of DPD for chlorine tests, ideal for high sample throughput in labs and field analysis, offering practicality and affordability.
Accuvacs: Vacuum-sealed glass cuvettes containing pre-measured reagents. Tests are conducted by immersing the Accuvac in the sample, which is then drawn into the cuvette for mixing and measurement.
Liquid Reagent Tests: Designed for various water applications, these tests offer a cost-effective solution for high-volume testing, covering a wide range of parameters for drinking, waste, and process water analysis.
Test ’N Tubes: Premeasured reagents in capped vials provide a safe and convenient testing method, optimized for reliable results and easy handling.
Key Parameters and Methods: The document lists parameters such as ammonia, chlorine, iron, nitrate, and more, with their measuring ranges, methods, and hazard codes, ensuring accurate analysis.
Safety and Hazard Codes: GHS hazard codes are included for each reagent, indicating necessary safety precautions.
Specifications: Lists chemical parameters like COD, nitrate, nitrite, total nitrogen, and phosphate, with measuring ranges, methods, and hazard codes. For example, COD is measured using dichromate and manganese methods, ranging from 0.7 to 1000 mg/L O2.
Standard Solutions: Details various standard solutions for analytical quality assurance, including alkalinity, ammonia, BOD, chlorine, and more, with concentration and GHS hazard codes for process control and accuracy.
Testing Equipment: Highlights Hach spectrophotometers and colorimeters, such as the DR6000 UV-VIS Spectrophotometer and DR900 Multi-Parameter Colorimeter, designed to reduce variability and improve testing efficiency.
Innovative Technology: Introduces the SL1000 Portable Parallel Analyser (PPA) as a streamlined solution for water quality testing, reducing manual steps, increasing accuracy, and allowing simultaneous testing of up to six parameters.
Hazard Codes: References GHS hazard codes for various chemicals, essential for safe handling and compliance with safety standards.

Powder Pillows are available for a large number of parameters and measuring ranges. Hermetically sealed in aluminium foil pillows, the Permachem reagents have a shelf life of many years. The reagent is simply poured into the measuring cuvette together with the sample. The evaluation can be carried out visually, e.g. with a colour disk, or with a Hach photometer. The secret of the Accuvac is the vacuum in the sealed glass cuvette containing a measured amount of reagent. The test is carried out by immersing the tip of the Accuvac in the sample, then breaking it by applying moderate pressure. The vacuum draws the sample into the cuvette, whilst ensuring thorough mixing. The resulting colour is measured visually or photometrically.
